I've got Silent Hill 2 mostly working on PC, I've installed all the fixes like the widescreen patch, fog fix, etc. But I'm still bothered by the audio. I know the PC port has compressed audio and in some places lack of audio files, which as far as I know there isn't a fix for. My main issue is that the game audio is playing in default stereo mode no matter what I do. I have headphones that support 7.1 surround, but any time I change the sound config in game from stereo to 7.1, it gets reset as soon as I leave the settings menu. I tried using a program to emulate hardware surround but it made most sounds come from my left headphone speaker which was really distracting.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Anyone know how I can change the in game audio setting without it reverting? Sid Star Flight Simulator Torrent.

Audio is one of the issues that this game has always had. The only thing I was able to do to make it work was to get a cheap usb audio jack (like those mostly used with laptops) and use that as the sound card. As far as I know there is no patch for the game as konami never ever released one. If you have issues with controls you can take a look at my other post.
