Tried the update - didn't help Have one PC that I upgraded from XP to Vista and VPN works. Have another PC that I installed Vista fresh and cannot sustain a VPN connection. Connects, registers on the network, and then disconnects.

Occassionally it will remain connected for a few minutes during which time I can ping the remote network. Have another PC, a MACPRO, running Vista x64, and get the same results. I have tried all of the above with no luck except that it seems to do with my wrieless NIC. I have a wireless card in my XP machine here and all is well.
I have connected and stayed connected on this Vista laptop via the LAN on the same wireless router and it works fine. Wirelessly, and it just drops in seconds!
Its an HP notebook with an Intel 3945abg wireless NIC. System is up to date as per MU and HP. I don't know if this helps, but I set my wireless not to use SSID broadcast. This seems to cause a problem for the autodiscover/save feature in Vista. It detects the unnamed netowrk but it never saves it. It will save it each time with a new incremeting number, thus I always have to re-connect everytime I reboot or bring it online from sleep/hibernate. From hibernate, i usually have to disbale the nic and renable it get an IP.
